Chicago, IL: Curt Teich & Company, 1940. 6 1/2 x 9 3/4"; 32 pp., signed by "Mrs. Jim White", minor edge wear and corner bumping; overall very good to near fine condition. Jim White (1882 - 1946) was the original discoverer and explorer of Carlbad Caverns, a remarkable feat given that he was only ten at the time and explored with an old lantern and home-made ladder. This is his remarkable story, from the initial discovery, through it's development as a National Monument in 1923, and the famous National Geographic Magazine photo spread.
