An "extremely rare" California miniature which has the distinction of being the "only known California Directory in this format, the first East Bay business directory and the first Berkeley directory of any kind." Note that Quebedeaux terms this the 'first California miniature', though this is disputed by Bradbury, who notes that 'Diamond History' also published in 1877, is incorporated in the latter potion of this volume.
