The Franklin Square Song Collection Devoted to School and Home (No. 4)
The Franklin Square Song Collection Devoted to School and Home (No. 4)
Harper & Brother, New York, 1887 first hardcover printing. Book is tight and square. Boards are heavily corner bumped with some soiling. No dust jacket. Interior has no bookstore stamps or writing but pages are very foxed (spotted) as is common in books of this vintage, particularly inside covers. Not just a songbook, but there are nice descriptive passages for each song selected. For example, the song "Flowers For the Brave" has a passage which talks about Decoration Day when people decorate the graves of soldiers, a precursor to today's Veteran's Day.
