Bright illustrations and pop-ups by Marion Guild, with all pop-ups in very good condition. Montgomery Ward stamp on lower right corner of title page. The first Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer story was published in 1939. This 1950 edition is a pop-up version. A delightful copy of this classic Christmas story. First edition thus. Spiral Bound. Marion Guild. Oblong spiral-bound pop-up book. 10.6" by 8.5". Color illustrations and pop-ups by Marion Guild. The book is close to internally fine, with all five pop-ups in pristine condition; some offsetting to insides of front and rear covers. The covers show some wear, especially at extremities, and significant separation of the plastic layer; elser covers are very good. Robert May was the originator of the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stories, beginning with his story of that name in 1939. This 1950 edition incorporates the art of Marion Guild, a Vermont artist and illustrator. An attractive copy of this charming Christmas pop-up.
