New York: The John Day Co., 1945, Hardcover, 2nd printing. Book Condition: Very Good; Green cloth over boards; Some wear to spine ends, slight corner bumping, some page tanning. Dust Jacket is in poor condition with multiple tears, creases and missing sections. Written by Buwei Yang Chao with a preface by Pearl Buck. This book shows how to make traditional Chinese dishes with ingredients found in the United States (ingredients to be found in Chinatown or supermarkets with expanded asian sections are listed as optional). Lots of explanations of cooking methods, utensil and materials for a cook new to Chinese food preparation. Text is clean, pages are tanned, hardcover boards are worn, corners bumped, green dust jacket is a little worn, and stained on the edges.
